Black Girl "Stella" Now residing in Western Oregon
![]() ![]() Hi Shelly! Stella is doing great. She is much bigger than her mother. I'm estimating her weight around 110 lbs. Her health has been excellent. She is a wonderful walking companion on our 2 mile walks. We are still working on minding when she sees another dog or person (she is very friendly). During December we had several storms. I have some great pictures of her in the snow, which she loves! When the weather is good she prefers to be outside. She doesn't care much for the wind, but all other weather conditions seem fine. Just recently she has become protective of me when a male approaches me and she does have a very big bark. Stella will be getting a big bone, some new toys, and a new leather leash for her birthday. Most toys don't make it more than a few days, but she really likes them. |

Yellow Girl "Heidi" Now residing in Washington OFA Excellent Hips Grade 1 elbow, Grade 2 elbow
![]() Heidi is doing very well - her last vet appointment was at 3.5 months and she weighed 38lbs! She's a big girl and a ball of fun. We have her in obedience class and she's learning very quickly. She attracts the attention of so many people everywhere we go. Last weekend we took a trip east of the mountains to Leavenworth, WA where they had a parade featuring the Bernese Mountain Dogs.; We weren't in the parade, but went to watch. She was a big hit and got to meet many other BMDs including some really big ones!! We had a great time. Next weekend, we'll head to the beach where she'll get her first taste of salt water (hopefully not literally) :) She really is a great pup and we are so happy with her temperament. 11

monthsHi Shelly, Sorry it's been so long since I've sent you pictures! doing great. At 7 1/2 months she weighs 75 lbs (maybe a little more) and is BEAUTIFUL! I've included a few pictures both of just her 7 month snapshots and our Labor Day weekend at Hood Canal, WA. She loves to swim and will even fetch a toy or two (sometimes) :).; She is such a great traveler and we love to take her everywhere with us. She just started her second round of obedience classes and is participating in a contest on Saturday to be the "Cover Dog" for a local magazine here (CityDog Magazine).; We will be at a local walk sponsored by PAWS and the contest is at the end of it - I figured we may as well give it a shot! :) Her favorite thing to do is play with all the other dogs at the dog park- she is so full of love, we just can't get enough of her ![]() ![]() 10 mo. 90 lbs Here are some recent pictures of Heidi. We have had a TON of snow here over the past week and are now up to 2 1/2 feet at our house which is very unusual, but Heidi, of course, is loving it. She thinks we've moved to the Swiss Alps! ;) We are looking forward to celebrating her first birthday - can't believe it's just around the corner. As always, we love her - she brings so much joy and laughter into our home. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Heidi had a great birthday :) . She goes to daycare now every other week and LOVES it. The daycare provider has nothing but good things to say about her and she earns excellent marks on her report card. ;) Last week, I baked treats for her to take in honor of her upcoming birthday and they ended up throwing her a birthday party - party hats and all! Pictures should be posted sometime in the next few weeks so I'll try and get some pictures to you. I've included pictures of Heidi in her party hat and eating her birthday dinner - enjoy! We didn't get a chance to get her weight, but hope to take her to do that soon.....she has definitely exceeded 100 lbs, we're just curious to see if she gets any taller this year. She is spoiled to pieces, but such a great dog. We are so, so happy with her.
Hi Shelly,
I've attached Heidi's OFFA results. Her hips are
excellent, but bad news on the elbows. :( I feel
terrible as we have really tried to keep her from
jumping too much despite her crazy energetic moods
sometimes ;).
We have her on salmon oil and glucosamine chews which
the vet thinks should keep symptoms at bay for a while.
I'm going to order more Vitamin C as well and we'll
probably have her drop a few pounds as well. Though not
real overweight, it wouldn't hurt to slim down just a
bit.
Anyways, we love our big girl - she is such a great dog
and so much fun...such a bright spot in our lives and oh
so nice to come home to!
I hope things are going well with you guys - the latest
litters look great!

Red Boy "Murphy" Now residing in Washington Local vet hip and elbow reading: Clear of any dysplasia
![]() ![]() 3
months old![]() Awesome
gait! 7
months & 67 pounds![]() Think we have seen something similar in a smaller version! What a character!! He has inserted himself into every routine as well as monitors the comings and goings of our 18lb. cat. He enjoys spending time "herding" the cat this direction or that direction. Often times the cat complies as this is his 3rd Bernese dog he has "trained". He tolerates Murphys' enthusiasm. Murphy seems oblivious to the cats indifference. He makes his own fun in his head while the cat lays there enduring the goofy pup! He still has a defiant streak of independence and at times thinks he has a better idea than we do. For the most part, he conforms but not without a visual sign of dislike for having to comply! His markings are lovely. His coat has changed to the big dog coat. Curly on his back and short on the sides. He loves to walk everyday. He is very fast and agile and often times can surprise us and do these amazing vertical jumps straight up just out of sheer happiness. He is friendly and interested in all animals and people. Very curious. And as all Berners do, he thinks everyone is admiring him or SHOULD be as we pass by! He loves to send the kids out the door for the day and to greet all who arrive. He is clearly beginning to defend his home and guard his property....even if it is an imaginary enemy! Our daughter heads to college on the 25th. I am sure he will miss having her around and one less body to monitor may confuse him. He seems a bit bossy at times so I am sure he will double his efforts towards me to compensate! We love him. Thanks for your careful breeding. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is Murphy and his full brother Taavi from litter "D". Wow what a handsome couple of guys! |

Pink Girl "Juno" Now residing in Western Oregon
![]() ![]()
3.5 months old & 35 lbs![]() 6 mo. and what a tail! We assume that she is going to put all those pieces together in a year or so! Watch out though...her daddy had the same problem and he certainly "GREW" into his tail! Thanks for the pix! 7 month
70 lbs. Right on target!
Juno is now just shy of turning 2 years. She has developed into a beautiful dog! Thanks for sharing the photo's of her obvious enjoyment of "catching snow flakes!" -Shelly ![]() ![]() |

Purple Girl "Cheyenne" Now residing in Southern California
![]()
![]() This is Cheyenne's first day in Sunny Southern California Already an experienced explorer! Fortunately she fell in at the stair side of the pool. I think she may actually like the pool, but for now she is separated by a fence for safety. 7
months oldWell, it sounds like So. CA has made a water dog out of a Berner. She actually swims in the pool for the pleasure of it! ![]() This is her "nesting" with her stuffed animals. The report is, that she will not even look at getting in her crate unless she can take one of her "babies" in with her. Sounds so much like Shyla :)! Looks like Ariel too:). |
