We decided that Estella is now Tundra, she seems to fit her new name. She doesn’t even seem to realize she left her family and momma. She is just amazing, all the way home she was so relaxed and only would make a big fuss if she had to pooh or pee, otherwise she was so quiet we would have to check on her a lot. No accidents in the car or house, she seems to let you know when something is up, (so far). She seems to like her crate on the way home, and Yogi is so intrigued with her he wants to see her all the time, we have to keep him from jumping up all the time.  We had them both together in the back of my escape for a few minutes and Tundra would steal Yogis Bully stick and if we gave it back to him she would keep taking it.  Then by the time we got home her personality really came out.  She really knows how to “rough house” with the best of them, she will climb and jump all over Yogis head and jump and fly tackle him,  growl and bark and there is a competition over all the toys, Yogi wants any toy we give Tundra and Tundra wants any toy that Yogi has, even if it is in his mouth (she tries to steal them) We really have to watch him because he is only 7 ½ months old and gets goofy and jumps all over and almost hurts her by accident because he is playing.  So I think we may have to limit play time together and the toys a little.  She slept till just after 5:00am this morning and then she was up, she did a running fly tackle on our cat Bear, and was chasing him around barking at him, Bear was not too happy about it, but wouldn’t hurt her.   Anyways it is like she was meant to be our girl and we just adore her, she is a pile of fun.  I think she is going to be the big boss around here!!!  Thanks so much for such a wonderful puppy.  She is amazing!!!  I attached some pictures.
too cute!

what did you do to that sweet puppy that went home with you? LOL
ohhhh, there she is!

Shelly

Hi, I forgot to send you some pictures when Tundra was 10 weeks old, there is some really cute ones of her favorite spot to sleep, it is on the tile by our wood fireplace (not when it is on though, too hot for her of course).  She is so funny she lyes on her back with her feet up and she almost gets stuck under the fireplace or under the wood holder. She is now over 12 weeks and in the past week she seems to understand the pee and pooh outside, she has not had an accident in many days.  Even when we are out somewhere else unfamiliar to her she does not want to pee inside and holds it.  She also sleeps everynight till about 6:00am and it is great to have sleep again. She is a bundle of fun and no fear, she really keeps us on our toes,  she will drag us everywhere as she must visit with every human she sees, and is offended if we don’t let her.  She is personality plus and very fun.

do you remember when you asked if she would have cute eyebrows?  Well...?~Shelly

1 year update!
Shelly Hi hope you and family are all good.  I thought I would send some pics of Tundra and Yogi may be in some.  Tundra is around 90 pounds and very cute and full of life, she loves people still, doesn’t bark much and listens very well.  She gets very excited on walks and still pulls some times especially when humans or other dogs are around because she must visit with all.  Her and Yogi are very good buddies, she still takes his bones some times, and he will tell her some times (gets Growly) but he won’t do anything about it, he cries and wines and or barks like a baby but will not go take it back.  She eats her bull sticks twice as fast as him and we now think maybe it is because she wants to try and get his after as well.  I guess she takes him for a sucker. She has been a big girl now for many months and no longer sleeps in her giant puppy crate, she prefers the bed early in the night and then ends up on the floor. But in the morning she will go back to sleep until around 8:00 and then she decides we all must get up and she would like food etc. so she comes up and licks us and plays etc until she gets us up, they will wrestle and sit on us etc. etc. It is like a couple of mooses on you. She also likes to lay on her back all twisted up with her feet in the air and get tummy rubs or she will flail her legs in the air like she is digging, just like I told you she digs at the rugs, tile etc.  I guess it is her little way of playing it is quite cute, looks like air digging. She likes you to play with her in the back yard and likes you to throw her toy and she will bring it back, some times she gives it up but other times she growls and acts real tough like, it is funny.  When she shakes a paw it is funny yogi slaps his paw in your hand like a boy and she places her paw in your hand ever so gently just like a princess.

We finally got the camera to cooperate and get a few pictures. one is from 10 Wks, the rest at 11.

He really has been doing amazing. He loves doggy daycare and has many many puppy friends to play with. He loves his new home and sitting out in the rain. You did a great job raising these puppies, and we thank you for our new lifelong companion =]

Hank in November of 2010 after getting a bath.
He just recovered from a pretty bad case of Giardia.  He lost allot weight, but is recovering well and starting to regain his weight.

Oh look how clean and handsome he is!
I don't know if I told you yet but Hank's elbow has healed great:) It seemed like it would never get better. He never wants to be on any of his beds though other then at night when he sleeps in his kennel on his orthopedic mat which stays cool and I know he appreciates that part of it:) Our boy seems like a sensitive one or bad luck lol either way. Kenton opened up a jar of honey and we didn't realize it landed on the top of his head till the next morning and he scratched at it so bad that it created a hot spot. I had to trim the hair away from the sore it was hard for me to do but knew I had to do it so it healed faster. Now that is almost gone hoping nothing else comes along in the near future. But we really do love our boy and if it was a year of two from now we would love to have one of Addie's babies :) We want a female eventually when the time is right. Congrats with all the puppies that will be here soon. We really think your way of breeding is great and to keep doing what you are doing:)

Hank is doing awesome:).  He has now earned his CGC and is working towards his Rally Novice title.  It is looking like Hank is heading for a working career:).

 8 wks.

Hi Shelly,
Bohdi-Joe (his new name) is doing well and seems to be growing like a weed! He was 23 lbs last Saturday the 3rd at his first vet appointment with us. He seems bigger all over this week, longer and taller, but his weight is good and he’s eating well. Owen, our little boy, loves him and Bodhi loves our son too. Bodhi and our 10 year old Newf/lab, Gabe, are becoming best buds and Gabe is showing Bodhi the ropes on how to behave and play.
Here are few photos from our ride home and first night.

We moved back for work – my husband returned to his previous company and I transferred with my company back to Portland.  We’re enjoying being closer to our families, but miss the snow – Bodhi DOES NOT like the rain, but he’s getting used to it.  He has a favorite spot under some canopy-style bushes out in the backyard he will hang out under while it’s raining and keep an eye on the world.  He is such a big clown – he LOVES our little boy that will be 2 soon– they play and play and play!  Bodhi is very gentle with him – occasionally they crash on accident, but they are both pretty tough.  Our 11 year old Newfoundland has lost quite a bit of weight and is definitely not acting his age with Bodhi as a playmate…they’re always wrestling or playing tug-of-war with a toy – Bodhi gives in way too easily though.  We met Bodhi’s ½ brother, Tritan, this summer at the dog show in Deschutes County at his first show – very pretty boy and he seemed to do well.

I’ve attached one photo – he doesn’t sit still well for photos - I will send more from home later this weekend.  He was a big hit at the annual 4th of July Pet Parade this summer in Bend – lots of Berners, but he was the only puppy and he really seemed to enjoy the attention. (I’ll send those pictures as well)

I usually take 4-5 pictures to get one good one, but sometimes I just can't resist some of the oops' I get!

Hi Leary Family;
I just wanted to drop a note to all of you and give you an update on our Bailey.  She settled down remarkably well the first night and only cried a little bit before sleeping until 5:30am.  Each day, no I should say hours, more of her personality comes out.  She is so much fun.  She has introduced herself to our cat, Kasha and is trying so hard to get her to come and play with her.  So far, Kasha isn't having any of that.  I was able to massage her umbilical hernia in several times, and each time it pops out it is smaller.  She is just an amazing dog.  She is loving, lively, mischievous, and just so much fun.  Thanks again for our wonderful girl.  I will keep sending updates and pics as she grows.

Hi Shelly:
I hope all is well with you and your family.  Bailey is doing great, and we have fallen so in love with her.  She is attending puppy kindergarten, and loves it.  She has had her shots to date, and likes visiting our vet.  We have taken her to the beach, the tulip festival and an Easter egg hunt, and she had so much fun at each event, and of course, everyone she meets falls in love with her!  As of week 12 she weighed 30lbs, and was right on track according to the vet.  I am enclosing some new pics for you to see.  All our best.

Hi Shelly:
I hope your summer was a good one, and your daughter's wedding was beautiful.  We are all doing well.  Bailey is growing by leaps and bounds.  She is 8 months old and weighs 85lbs.  She has completed her beginning obedience classes and will begin intermediate classes soon.  Bailey has traveled to the beach, hiked the mountains in the Sierra Nevada, and has become a boater girl.  She has not learned to swim yet, but is trying to. Bailey brings a smile to our faces each day and is the joy of our lives.  Here are some of her favorite things:
*loves to go to the dog park, but after playing for a few minutes, would rather sit by the front gate and meet and greet everyone.
*will stop whatever she is doing and sit down to watch the birds or an airplane flying by.  She won't move till they are beyond her sight (see pic sitting next to the slide)
*She believes every animal and human alike should be her friend.
*She loves to go for walks.
*She loves to play tug of war, and plays with her bottom up in the air, tale wagging furiously.
*She loves to hide under the bushes and then pounce on you when you are not looking.
*She loves the deer that hang out on the property and wonders why they won't stop and play.
*She loves all toys that squeak or make some sort of noise

Thank you so much for our wonderful dog.  She means the world to us.  We will check back at birthday time!

Hi Shelly: Thank you for the birthday wishes. Bailey continues to be such a beautiful, bright light in our lives. She weighed in at 100lbs on her birthday, and is happy and healthy! She has been spayed, and we continue to take her to obedience classes. She is such a social girl. She loves the dog park, and has regular play dates with her close buddies as well. I have enclosed two photos from the holidays. Hope things return to normal for you and your family, and your Mother In Law is feeling better. Best Wishes

Tanda
Portland, OR

Hello.  Thought I would be getting back to you before this but forgot the intensity of the first few days with a new puppy!  We are delighted with Tanda(Charlie).  I am using his morning time napping to get some things done.  He seems to be adjusting to us fairly well and we to him.  Any problems in behavior seem to have more to do with us and are finding ways to "explain" our rules and for us to understand his communications to us.  So glad you started him on veggies.  It keeps us picking up the veggies before other treats, too.  Once I get another lesson from James I will send on some pictures.    Also the vet was very pleased with his health -- after we were in the waiting room all staff came out with their oohs and ahhs and hugs and kisses.  I felt bad for the two other pet patients, but was also pretty pleased.  One of them came in even though it wasn't her work day just to see him.  Good luck with all the family and families.

Irony: We named Pip and he was not much different that his siblings.  But, it soon became evident that Pip was going to have to fight for his spot in the litter.  Harmony took him under her 'Paw' and has helped raise him.  Who would have thought that Pip would take his name so seriously and BECOME the main character in the book! Pip is a survivor, he is healthy and active, but he will always be Pip in our eyes!  And yeah...that makes him pretty special to us:)

Excuse the pine chip on his nose!

Well, he is off to Portland, OR.  We will miss you terribly Pip!  On departure you weighed in at 17 lbs!  A full catch up!!  We hope you bring as much happiness to your new home as you did around here.

Hi Shelly,
Pip was a total champ in the car, he slept till the Dalles and let me know it was time to stop for a break. We got home and he met tons of two and four legged friends and fit right in to all of it. My neighbors three year old won't stop calling him frosty the snowman. He is currently sacked next to me on the couch, he is going to be so spoiled. Thanks again Shelly. I'll be sure to send pics of his antics. He's a really good boy.

He is doing well with training and loves people and other dogs. A few of my friends and I were sitting around a couple of weeks ago and he came running into the room, plopped down, mumbled and fell asleep at our feet.  We started oooing about how gorgeous he is and thus his first nickname came up, Mr. G., or gorgeous george as I like to call him.  I have so many names for him...he mumbles all the time when he is sleeping, so mumbles came up also. Chompers and Mr. Digger for obvious puppy reasons...and of course the pipster.
I spent the weekend doggy proofing the garden area.  I think he is mad at me for killing one of his favorite playgrounds :)
All is well in Pip land.
Here are the pics from last week....he is getting so big!  Last weigh in he was about 23 pounds.

are you sure there aren't steroids in the into the wild food :)
George is doing great, every day is getting easier.  Took him in yesterday for his shots, he's up to 27 pounds.  He knows how cute he is.

Pip (now affectionately called George) and his mom have stayed in constant contact via phone and e-mail.  We have not posted allot of the correspondence as we were unsure as to what was happening.  Pip had a negative reaction to a vaccine and had some nerve damage to his rear end causing a "wobble" and pain.
It has now been three months of treatments, observing, and testing and it is conclusive that this was a vaccine related incident.  Although the last visit to the Dr.'s said he should remain about the same for the rest of his life, he appears to be improving.  Below is the most recent update (December, 2010) on George:

Shelly,
So far so good!  George has been off meds for over three weeks now and is showing no sign of relapse.  In fact, he just gets better from week to week and is becoming the Pip he once was.  Day to day he explores different sections of the house and even made his way on the bed the other day.  I know that doesn't seem like much, but for us, it's just another amazing feat for him as he starts to heal.
He is becoming more playful and vocal again. It seems like his brain wants to play full force, but sometimes his back end doesn't agree.  As days go by, I see improvement on how the two ends are talking to each other.  It's a little weird at times for me, because I look at him now (he is big) and have to remind myself he is still a puppy.  He has been so down for the count and quiet the last four months, that as he is awakening, I feel like I have a new dog on my hands.  Fortunately for us, he had some good training before all of this started and his good behavior is still intact.  He is such a loving boy.  I hope whatever this is sticks and that his bad times are over.
Thought I'd send a couple of pics, he looks just Like Bailey.  Hope all is well.

5/2/11

Hey Shelly,  I wanted to send you some pics and give you an update on my little pal - seems like looking at your site you have your hands full!  I'm sorry to hear that with all the puppy chaos, you are also dealing with illness in the family, my prayers are with you. George has been doing well, I was going to send you an email last week to tell you how great he has been, but today, somewhat different news.  He stopped eating Friday and and was vomiting saturday.  He was still taking in water and ice cubes, but I couldn't get him to take boiled chicken, bacon or meat over the weekend, so I took him in today.  He normally eats anything....lately he has been liking shoes :)   His temp is normal, heart normal, waiting for blood results and they are keeping him overnight to get him rehydrated and try to get some food in him.  He didn't seem to have any pain when I checked around, so I am hoping he just has a bug and it will work itself out once Franklin has him hydrated.   On the upside (and it has been upside since november) He is such a big love bug, he is so kind and gentle with children and other dogs.  He never ceases to amaze me.  I have a neighbor kid that is about 5 and she is small, fragile and suffers from rheumatoid arthritis.  When he is with most kids, he is very gregarious and puppylike, but when he is with her, he just sits or lays down and lets sadie use him as a pillow.  When I walk him on a leash, he just wants to go, but when Sadie has him on leash, he walks to her side like a perfect gentlemen.  Maybe they are kindred spirits, I don't know, but it's damn cute. I've attached a couple of pics. I'll let you know how the tests go.
As far as mobility, he is a machine.  We went hiking around a lake in town and out of no where, he jumped about 4 feet straight up and was walking on a fallen tree.  When he started healing, I was working with a trainer to strengthen him and keep his puppy mind busy.  We play tug and fetch three or four times a day, then do a brisk walk.  If you were to meet him, you would never know he had issues when he was younger.

1/3/12
Hey shelly,  As the 2 year anniversary is coming up (phew), I thought I'd send you a couple of pics of the little man.  He is doing awesome and is becoming a REALLY good dog.  He is loving, watchful, fun, happy and always playful.  He hasn't eaten a rock in three months ;) He had a little skin thing going on, where he was scratching a lot and pulling his hair out by his tail, but I changed his diet around and the vey gave me a salve, now that seems to be fixing itself.  Just wanted to wish you happy new year and thank you again for this guy, he has taught me a lot about patience and unconditional love this past year. Hope all is well out east.

Hello Shelly,

We have named him Hero but I still call him Raymond sometimes. He is doing wonderful! The first couple nights he missed his family, but now we are getting him crate trained and taking him to puppy classes this week at Happy-Go_lucky, a local outfit with great reviews. He’s just been doing puppy things like chewing and barking and jumping, but us along with everyone else have been impressed with how well-mannered he is.
Hero is getting along with our son great. At first there was some rivalry for attention, but soon enough they were sharing food and wrestling (nicely).

Hi Shelly,
We finally got some pics uploaded to send. Here are just a few.
He really traveled very well, mostly he just slept in the car and probably did the same on the plane.
Gideon loves Alaska and all the snow. He is very energetic, he is even wearing the munster out. He is learning to walk with the leash and will sit on command. He likes to chew on the furniture so we have to give him other options. He is not a lap dog, he likes attention but only while his 4 feet are on the floor. He is growing like a weed, we will let you know his weight on Friday, that's when he goes to the vet.

Shelly,
Here are some recent pics of Gideon, He weighed 66 pounds a few weeks ago. He really has been a great dog, very few accidents and was breeze to house train. He does very well with basic commands and is getting much better on a leash. He wants to pull, which I guess is what he is bred to do. He loves toys that squeak and chasing the Munster around the yard. When he was younger he tried to chew on the kitchen furniture but he seems to be over that now, he has his new pearly white teeth.  He has little puppy coat left, mostly on his head.  One of the funniest things Gideon does is that he wants you to hold his paw (all the time) and if you put it down he will give you his other to hold.  He's been taught to speak (talk) on command but, sometimes it's hard to get him to stop talking!!  Gideon is a joyful addition to our home.

We are in heaven...Orlick, aka Boone is the very best.  He is so energetic and vocal..he fits right in.  Our shepherd accepted him immediately but Jack, the terrier, was not at all sure and had to be held so he didn’t attack Boone.  Boone, who had been quiet all day suddenly looked up at Jack and started barking and barking and then jumping around to play.  It was almost as if he said back off Jack and then said lets be friends and now they are buddies and the same size too.  He's already met an entire volleyball team and all of a sudden we are very popular.  we've had a revolving door of friends so he's getting lots of attention.

Hi Shelly,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
I have been wanting to write you how grateful we are to have McGregor AKA Wopsle. This has been the 1st day I have had time to sit for a few minutes. He looks so much like our Jaeger and acts just like he did, it is scary. He is a good boy and talks up a storm. We go to bed at 11:00pm and he sleeps until 5:00 am. At first he didn't like his crate but now he goes into it without to much persuasion. I will take a picture once Jimmie is feeling better.
He is doing wonderful and thank you again.

1/15/12:
Hi Shelly,   I truly am sorry for not sending photos of MacGregor soon. This is the first time I have down loaded the pictures on my camera to my computer. The first picture is when we received him and the last picture was of him this past summer at our Vermont home.   I would like to thank you again; he has turned out to be the best dog ever. He is smart and good-looking however, he does like to talk alot. He is away with me when I am the only one in the house except when my husband is home, MacGregor becomes his boy always lying on top of Jimmie on the sofa (he is a big comfort dog). He loves everyone and is good with all the other animals my Lowchen thinks he is her play and chew toy and he lets her think that.   We had him nurtured at about 16 months. I hope all is well with you and your family. Our family is doing well and thank you for making it complete with MacGregor.

Shelly,
Wanted to drop you a note to let you know everything is going great. We named him Cooper and he is growing like a weed. Last weigh in 32 lbs!! We think he is amazing so easy to potty train, so well behaved.

Shelly, Just sent you new pictures of Cooper. I know you heard how big he is. He is the joy of our lives we couldn't be happier. He is wonderful! He still thinks he is a lap dog and wants to sit on our laps all the time, just so loving. He worries when the boys are gone sits by the door watching until his family is complete, its funny how he knows we are not all home and that's not right! He is absolutely beautiful and when he went to training the trainers couldn't stop remarking how beautiful he was! Thank you for giving us such a wonderful addition to our family!
