Swiss Silhouette's Future Lead Lady "Freja" (Swiss for: Noble Lady) OFA Hips: Excellent, OFA Elbows: Normal OFA Thyroid: Normal OFA Cardiac: Normal CERF: Clear DM: Clear VWD: Clear Berner Garde ID # 69679 Born: 6/4/09 Sire: CH Tchoum Du Haras De La Verngne Dam: Swiss Silhouette's Bengta RN, RA, RE, CD, CGC, NDD ![]() Freja is a big girl and probably not done maturing. She is 110 lbs at 29 mo. I have taken her to two shows. She took Reserve Winner's Bitch in Helena, Montana, and the other two days she took second and third place in the Open Class. I also took her to Richland, WA and she took third in Open there as well. What I see in the ring is that she is unsure as to what is happening and not showing herself off to her full potential, and she is still not finished maturing. I may have missed an opportunity here as I have kept her at home to grow her out, but also missed the opportunity to help her feel comfortable in the ring. I will work with her in some different settings, but she could potentially be like her mom (whom I did the same thing with) and simply be our stay at home girl. Freja has many wonderful qualities to add to our breeding program. Besides having nice structure, we have been blessed with a very soft nature in this girl. Her mom was a little hard headed, but Freja is incredibly gentle in nature. |

Freja: 16 weeks old Lanky and just a little "collie" looking! But, we have watched them hit this teenage stage before and we are looking forward to the time that everything comes together!! Temperament wise we are very happy with our little lady. She is willing to try just about anything (except keep the cat out of her food dish! She lets Bill or I move the cat) and loves everybody. Bill has taken her on as his project for obedience and tracking. We will keep you updated as to how they both do! |
The cat is still in charge, but this makes for the most entertaining play time! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
6 mo. 67 lbs Freja is such a delight...can't wait to see her as an adult. She has such a sweet nature and willing attitude. We always get questions about the curly coat...this is a puppy coat. Most of our dogs have ended up with a slight wave to their adult coat, but some have gone pretty close to straight. We feel confident her coat will not stay curly as it can easily be blown out with the drier. |

7 months We are only looking at the stack...not the stack of messy books! Feja is still high in the rear, and still pretty straight in the front, but she is still young. You can't tell in the picture, but she has nice bone and a very dense coat. Again, the curls WILL go away. This is a juvenile coat. |
Bill and Freja have a special relationship too. It is fun
watching them work together.![]() |

8 Mo.: and her first trip to Wallow Lake. Loved the water, sand, rocks, trees...all of it; Even the little snow that was left. This has been a bummer Berner winter!! |

18 months: 100 lbs Freja has turned into the Lady we hoped she would. Her French heritage shows in her large structure, but she has the softest temperament, and gentlest spirit. She is incredibly athletic which has caused us to worry about her joints as she loves to sail over 5 foot fences, and anything else she can jump. But, it appears she is still sound! When she runs it as if she moves effortlessly and barely touches the ground. I am not sure how such a big girl can fly the way she does, but she does. |
